PA-28(32) Wing Spar Eddy Current Inspection: This is a bolt hole eddy current inspection using either the manual or an automatic bolt hole scanning technique. ASI has capabilities for both techniques. The inspection calls for the inspection of two of the outboard bolts holes where the wing spar comes together from the bottom to the top of the holes on both the Right & Left hand side. While reading the AD 2020-26-16 you may have noticed that there are some differences between the AD and the Piper SB No. 1345. The SB 1345 specifies doing the eddy current inspection upon reaching 5,000 hours TIS; however, this AD requires using the factored service hours to identify the airplanes at the highest risk of developing fatigue cracks. The AD 2020-26-16 has provided us with a formula to determine if your aircraft is at the highest risk or not (The Formula is listed in the AD 2020-26-16, or in our FAQ area). Piper SB No. 1345 also specifies using its feedback form to report the eddy current inspection results, but this AD requires the use of a different form, both are listed below with other related documentation including the NEW AD 2020-26-16 and the related NTSB report behind that is the reason for this whole inspection. King Air AD 2020-25-01: First off this airworthiness directive (AD) is effective January 11, 2021. Below this statement is a picture of the effected Aircraft Models and according serial numbers. This AD was prompted by information provided by Textron that a washer assembly may provide premature torque indication that could lead to cracking of the wing fitting. The FAA is issuing this AD 2020-25-01 to prevent such fatigue cracks. The unsafe condition, if not addressed, could result in failure of the forward lower wing fitting, which could lead to wing separation and loss of airplane control. Cessna (210 & 177) Mandatory SEL 57-06,  57-07,  57-08 Revision 1 (C210), and 57-09 (C177)  08 &09:  This is an eddy current inspection scanning technique on the entire lower portion of the Wing Spar Carry Thru. The inspection calls for the inspection of entire Lower Spar for Cracks and Corrosion. Listed below  AD 2020-03-16 for the Cessna 210,  the SEL for the Cessna 177, 57-09 Current Revision and SEL  57-08 Rev 1 Dated Nov 19 2019 for the Cessna 210 and the related link for the report behind this Mandatory Service Letter. New Airworthiness Directives

Piper-PA28(32) AD 2020-26-16: This AD is derived from a Crash where the left wing separated from the fuselage of the plane, the wing separation was caused by fatigue cracking in a visually inaccessible area of the lower main wing spar cap. This AD requires calculating the factored service hours for each main wing spar to determine when an inspection is required, inspecting the lower main wing spar bolt holes for cracks, and replacing any cracked main wing spar. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
